Located in the southeast of Nepal, Pradesh No. 2 (recently named Madhesh Province) is spread across an area of 9,661 sq kms, bordering India to the south, Pradesh No.1/Koshi Province to the east and Vagmati Pradesh to the north. It comprises 8 districts, with Janakpur as its capital. Madhesh is distinguished by the number of languages spoken by its peoples, including Bajjika, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi and Nepali.
