Gandaki Pradesh, named after the river Gandaki which flows through it, is located in the centre of Nepal, bordering Tibet to the north, Vagmati Pradesh to the east, Karnali Pradesh to the west, and Pradesh No. 5 and India to its south. It covers almost 15 per cent of the country’s total area. Pokhara is its capital, and largest, city. Nepali is the most commonly spoken language in the province, which also serves as its official language.
