Lakshadweep

A stunning island in the south of India, this tropical archipelago is known for its gorgeous waters and aquatic life. Previously called the Laccadive, Minicoy, and Aminidivi Islands, today Lakshadweep meaning a ‘thousand sun kissed islands’ in Sanskrit consists of 36 islands. As the smallest Union Territory of India, Lakshdeep covers a total area of 32 sq. km, including 12 atolls, ten inhabited islands and numerous coral reefs and beaches. The territory is extremely famous for water sports such kayaking, snorkelling and paddle boarding, often attracting tourists.
