Khulna

Khulna is located in the southwestern region of Bangladesh, acting as a historical interface between Bangladesh and India after the partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947. It is also home to the Sunderban Reserves, a world heritage site which it shares with neighbouring Barisal Division, and acts as a natural habitat to the Royal Bengal Tiger, the national animal of Bangladesh. It is a largely agrarian, criss-crossed by riverine pathways of the Gangetic Delta, the largest in the world.
