Rangpur

Historically a part of Bengal’s Cooch Behar princely state, the current Divisional boundaries of rangpur extend southwards away from the district of Rangpur which lies within the borders of the Indian state of West Bengal and Assam, thereby adding to its rich historical connection with the Brahmaputra and Teesta valleys, making Rangpur a very important state for fisheries and agriculture in Bangladesh.
